It was all high energy and determination in the room at the last Women In Finance France speed-mentoring for Board preparation last week
Our last session before the Summer break brought together, in the intimate setting of Lombard Odier Group who so generously hosted us, our keenest members willing to work on their Board profile.
3 respected mentors Lucille Desjonquères Anne-Sophie Fauvet Jean-Pascal Porcherot coached our cohort, sharing their experience and sharpest advice.
We were reminded that with the new "Women on Boards" european law voted in January 2023, it will be expected that all european listed companies give 40 % of Board seats to women. 2026 is when european players need to comply.Just under 2 years to bridge the gap.
"There is a highway for women to get on Boards and contribute" said Lucille Desjonquères. Go go go !!
Whilst thorough preparation is necessary to pitch and position oneself - Executive training, research... Reflection on one's personal fit is also crucial. "Let your personality shine through" suggested Anne-Sophie Fauvet.
It has been said and repeated, self-worth and building one's confidence is key. It comes with a fine approach to building one's network. Whilst Board hunters contribute to key appointements on Boards, organic placement through network remains a privileged path. So, « meet, greet.. dare! » recommanded Jean-Pascal Porcherot
And join Women In Finance France!
A big shout out to our 3 mentors and their precious advice. Thank you again to Lombard Odier Group for being our co-host.
